Information on accessibility, parking & arriving by public transport.

ACCESSIBILITY

Masson Mills is part of the UNESCO Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and a Grade II* listed building. Although we work to ensure the site is accessible to visitors, there are unaltered historic elements where care should be taken. This includes uneven floors and doorways, original floor surfaces, narrow walkways and obstructions at head height.

Ramp access is provided into the Visitor Centre and 1783 Mill. (As the doorway into the 1783 Mill leads directly onto a stairwell, a fixed ramp is not possible in this location and is assembled as required. Please request our assistance on arrival.)

Accessible parking and drop off is available on site- both at the Visitor Centre and by the 1783 mill. Please call us on 01629 581 001 so we can discuss the best place for you to park for your visit.

Accessible toilet facilities within the 1783 Mill.

Lift access between all floors of the 1783 Mill.

Carers receive free museum entry with a valid form of ID.

If you would like to discuss your visit with us please call us on 01629 581 001 or email us at info@massonmills.co.uk.

VISITING WITH DOGS

Dogs are welcome in our Visitor Centre, however, due to load noises and open water we do not allow them on the rest of the site which includes the museum and guided tours. Guide dogs are welcome.
