Felting Workshop:
Wet Felted Flowers
10:30am – 1pm
£40
About the workshop
Wet felting is an ancient art form where layers of wool fibres are worked together using warm water, soap and a little bit of elbow grease.
You will be creating several of your very own unique wool flowers. It is suitable for either beginners, or those who want to improve their skills.
The session will start with an explanation about the different types of fleece and fibre and the origins of the ancient art of felt making. As the wool fibres shrink they twist and fuse together to create a unique natural fabric. You
will be guided through the whole process through demonstration and practice pieces. (If you have any allergies or skin sensitivity please bring your own soap on the day – any type is suitable).
A range of wools and fibres will be provided for you to use. By the end of the session you will have several flowers that you can embellish with a range of materials such as buttons, beads and threads.
Please note that your creations will still be wet at the end of the class but you will be provided with instructions about drying it. You will also take home the skills required to produce future felt creations.
Please bring with you a plastic bag to take home your beautiful creations and any special soap you need due to allergies.
